Foundation 2 is the name of our Reception Class.

The class teacher is Mrs Lawrenson, who is also Foundation Stage lead.

In Foundation 2 children continue to explore and make sense of the world through play.  The children have open access to the inside and outside learning areas.  We also learn the important skills of reading, writing, handwriting and mathematics through play and in short adult directed learning.

It is VITAL that your child reads their Guided Reading book at least 3 times a week and that they share other stories regularly at home.  It is important to practise robot talk and write in contexts that make sense to the child, e.g., shopping lists, cards etc.  It is alwys fun to count objects such as  stairs, spoons, fruit etc.  but remember to count backwards too!

The children need to keep their P.E. bags, waterproofs and wellies in school every day, they get lots of use!  It is useful to have a spare set of clothes in their P.E. bags too.
