Autumn Term

Incredible India!

In our learning this term we will be finding out all about India!

We will initially focus on the Geography part of our learning journey, where we will find out about India as a country and in particular we will learn about the village of Chembakoli, which is in Southern India.

We will compare Chembakoli with Torquay and we will focus our comparison on their homes, schooling and transport, so that the children can gain an understanding of the similarities and differences between where they live and a village in another country.

In our Science learning we will be learning about living things and their habitats, and we will look at how animals are suited to the habitats in which they live and that their habitats provide them with what they need.

We will compare animals that are typically found in the UK with animals that live in India.

Here are a few websites about India that the children will find interesting and will also help them with their homework menu;

Homework menu display

We have made a display of all the fantastic  home learning that has gone on this term about India.

This is the display board outside our classroom, which everyone is stopping to look at!

Well done Year 2, thank you for all your hard work at home with your families.

Accelerated Reader

We have had some children in Year 2 already reach their end of term reading target!

Their target was to read enough books to earn 15 points by December 18th.

All of these children have already hit that target, so well done, and keep reading!
