Merry Christmas from all of us at Nursery

Lots more Christmas fun and activities. Making chocolates for our families and Christmas stars.

Christmas Nativity. The children did a fantastic job and joined in so well with all of the songs and said their lines in big loud voices. Look for the video link next week.

Week Starting the 7th December. Christmas fun! We are making Christmas cards, robins, wreathes, snowflakes, stained glass decorations and chocolate gifts for our families. We are also busy rehearsing our Nativity play.

Week starting the 30th November. We are starting to celebrate Christmas in Nursery Class.

Week Starting 16th November. Learning about Diwali. We have made Rangoli patterns and Mehndi. We have baked Diwali cakes and danced to Indian music. We have also enjoyed exploring all of our usual nursery activities.

Week starting 16th November. Learning about heavy and light. Making Diwali cakes. Learning as we play with our friends in nursery.

Children In Need 2020. Today we wore our own clothes and brought in money for Children in Need. We made Pudsey faces, spotty biscuits and a spotty bandana for our teddy. We listened to a story about Pudsey and the Lost Bandana. We played a children in need lotto game and did some Pudsey colouring

Week starting 9th November. We have a busy week this week, with Armistice Day, Children in Need and all of our normal busy learning activities! We will post some poppy photos and children in need photos later in the week.

Armistice day. Showing our school value of respect. We watched the Cbeebies clap about poppies. We made poppy pictures and we had 2 minutes of silence at 11 am.

Week starting 2nd November. This week we are learning all about our senses. Our story this week is 'Lucy's Picture', which is about a little girl who makes a textured collage for her blind Grandpa. We have tasted different tastes and smelled different smelly pots. We have thought about the words we use to describe things. We have listened to music and described how it makes us feel and what images it conjures in our minds. We will also listen to different pieces of music and create some pictures while we listen. We are also making our own feely collages, just like Lucy. We are learning about Melody (BBC) and her visual impairment. Please also see links below.

A trip to the school hall to do some exercise.

Making the most of the sunshine outside today! We enjoyed making 'soup' in the mud kitchen. We also practiced our balancing and throwing skills.

Creating transient autumn collages. We also used autumn treasures to make face pictures. We created some vegetable printing pictures as well.

We have had lots of fun outside and inside, learning and exploring with our friends. October 2020.

We are having lots of fun learning about autumn in nursery this week. This week we have set up a fruit and vegetable shop in nursery. We are also improving our fine motor skills by pushing golf tees into a giant pumpkin.

Making apple crumble. The children especially enjoyed rubbing in the butter to make the crumble mixture.

Conkers- making a marble run with the conkers. Today we also made smelly playdough with spices.

Making a den for bears!

Today we went searching for autumn treasures in the garden and pond area. This was the first trip to this area of the school for our new children.

Fine motor skills activities. Some of the children put the tiny sticks through the flour shaker holes. They had to really concentrate! We have also started to learn how to make 'story sticks' as part of a whole school art project.
