Our Nativity play at our local Church. thank you father Tony for letting us use your Church. It was areally special day for us!

4th December. Visiting father Tony in our local church. We saw the font, found out where we would be doing our play next week and especially enjoyed looking at the stained glass windows.

We have started using the Tooth Brush Bus in Nursery. We brush our teeth everyday in Nursery with our friends.

25.11.19 Today we read the story of The Three Little Pigs. We used sticks and play dough to make houses for our pigs. We had to huff and puff to try to blow down our houses. We had to match the correct amount of sticks to the number on the pig.

We went up to the field. Mrs Lawrenson had made a fire, we sat on a stone in a circle around the fire. We watched the flames dance and the smoke blow. We smelt the fire. We cooked a marshmallow on a stick, when it was cool enough we were allowed to eat it. It was fun! We had to be very careful and only go around the edge of the stone circle, we only went in the middle with Mrs Lawrenson. It was cold and raining, but the fire made us warm.

November 2019 Having fun outside by the pond area and in the mud kitchen. Despite the chilly weather we spent lots of time outside today! Some of the children were pretending to be the big Bad Wolf from the 3 Little Pigs story and doing big fierce faces!

Today we made Pudsey faces, spotty biscuits and a spotty bandana for our teddy. We played a fun Lotto game.

Healthy Eating Parent share. Today we were visited by Debbie Richards Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Early Years specialist, who came to talk to parents about healthy toileting habits. We also sang a song about healthy eating, made fruit kebabs, sorted healthy and treat foods and looked at our brand new brush buses. We are very excited about starting brushing our teeth together at Nursery!

Armistice Day. Remembrance Day. We had two minutes of silence at 11 O'clock, sitting in a circle outside, quietly watching the sand timer. We watched two short video clips all about Remembrance for young children. The children made some fantastic potato print poppy pictures.

We have been learning about how Hindus and Sikhs celebrate Diwali. We watched how Jessica celebrates Diwali with her family on two ‘Lets Celebrate’ video clips. You can watch these two clips at home with your child on cbeebies, Let’s Celebrate! Jessica makes Diva Lamps, wears new clothes, goes to temple and eats special food to celebrate Diwali. Jessica and her family are Hindu. In class we made our own clay coil pot Diva Lamps to take home. We also made cocunut barfi. At snack time we tried some Indian food. We read some stories about Divali. We re-told the story of Rama and Sita using puppets.

October 2019 Today in Nursery we had fun making bread hedgehog rolls. We had to do lots of mixing to make a bread dough and then we moulded the dough into hedgehog shapes. Then we snipped the dough with the scissors to make spikes. The last job was to put two raisins on the hedgehog for eyes. We put them in the oven to cook. They smelt delicious!

Learning about Harvest. Making apple crumble to share with our families.

Having fun in the garden and pond area.

This week we have been learning all about bees! We have read the story 'The Bee Man' and a counting story about bees. The children got to look at, feel and taste some fresh honeycomb. We have had a go at using the computer to play a bee counting game. Also, we have watched a bbc class clip about Quince Honey Farm.
