Class Celebrations

Reading

Year three have had a huge success with our progress in reading following the introduction of accelerated reader. We have become one of the leading classes, regularly earning multiple stars in a week. As a reminder for those of you wondering what a star is awarded for, a pupil must score 100% in two reading quizzes in the same week to earn just one star. It isn’t easy but Year 3 are pushing hard to win their stars!

Congratulations to all the children who have earned a star so far!

Thank you to all the parents and families at home who support your children’s regularly reading. Our successes are building a love of reading which can only support our learning better and better over time.

Spellings

Mrs Worth has launched a new reward scheme for spelling success in Year 3 and who knows where it will end…literally!

When children score full marks in their weekly spelling test they earn TWO links for our paper chain and if they only make one mistake they still earn ONE star for the chain…it just keeps growing and growing!

Can we make it stretch across the whole classroom or even around every wall? The challenge is on!

Sporting Success

From football to gymnastics, from ballet to karate, Year 3 are a sporty class with lots of sporting success beyond our school gates. Keep your eye on this page as we begin to celebrate the success our pupils have in their sporting activity inside and outside of school.

Story Telling

What began as a simple homework to put the fun back into reading, writing and telling stories is taking on a life of its own! Year 3 just can’t stop telling stories. To see so many children celebrating their literacy skills and wanting to share their ideas with others is a treat to behold and who knows how much further this enthusiasm can carry us!
