Reading

Every week, you will be set a comprehension. There are two comprehensions that you can choose from; you only have to do one.This week's comprehension starts with five questions based on vocabulary and then the other questions are based on VIPERS. Don't forget that if you need some help, you can either email us and we can talk through the questions or ask someone at home.

V= VOCABULARY

These questions will based on finding the meaning of words in context or other words that mean the same thing.

I= INFERENCE

For these questions, you might not be able to find or copy the answer directly from the text so you will need to use the clues.

P= PREDICTION

These questions involve you making a sensible guess about what will happen.

E= EXPLAIN

These questions involve giving details about what has happened.

R= RETRIEVE

For these questions, you can find the answers directly in the text and can copy.

S= SUMMARISE

For these questions, you need to read the text and work out the main events or points. A summary is a shortened version of something.

There are two comprehensions below. You only have to do one of them. The one about Romans is slightly easier than the Egyptian gods.

Grammar

This week, we are going to continue revising word classes. We will be learning about what pronouns are and the different types.

We thought you might like to choose from two different writing activities this week. You only need to do one of them, although you can do both if you choose to.
