Mile Club Summer Term 2019

Picture 1

'The Mile Club' is for children who enjoy running and being active and is run in conjunction with the Torbay Half Marathon Schools' Challenge raising money for the THHN (Torbay Holiday Helpers Network). They run the equivalent of a half marathon, completing 12 miles within school at ‘The Mile Club’ and finally they run, as a team  their last mile at the Torbay Half Marathon.

Once the main main runners have headed off to Torquay the children run around Paignton Green on part of the Marathon course in front of hundreds of spectators.  It is a great way for a child to participate in the excitement of the Half Marathon and enjoy the atmosphere of the day, and will bring much excitement as they cross the finish line, having completed 13 miles in total.  Each child receives a special t-shirt and race number to wear on the day and they are rewarded with a medal once they cross the finish line.
