Book Week

What a fantastic week we had!  We had a visit from author, Leyland Perree on Monday.  Teachers shared their favourite stories with the children in book reading sessions.  Children  brought in a favourite story from home at the start of the week that they shared with a child in another class.  Each class created a book cover artwork on the doors to their classrooms, which was judged at the end of the week.  Well done to Year 2, with their 'Aliens Love Underpants' door!  Thursday was World Book Day,  children and staff came dressed as a book character.  Their was a wonderful atmosphere around the school, with story telling and character hunts.  On Friday we had our annual Poetry Slam.  Each class performed a class poem  on the theme of their class learning for this term. The children were also  invited to enter with a poem that they had learnt off by heart.  Our judges, Mr Codd, Mrs Hererra and Mrs Procter had a very difficult job!  Well done to Year 2 who won the class competition!

Here are a few photos from the week.
