Charity Vote

it was polling day on Thursday 21st September to decide which charity would be our school charity for the year.

Various staff members delivered a pitch for their charity at the start of the week—Shelterbox, Devon Air Ambulance, RNLI, Surfers against Sewage & Torbay Children’s Week were represented.

staff and children were formally checked before submitting their vote; 3 returning officers counted the votes on Friday. The winning charity, announced in Monday’s assembly, is Surfers against Sewage. Among other things we plan to organise a school beach clean in conjunction with local organisations. The children have been really motivated and excited with this democracy in action—a great way to learn about one of our core British values!
