Reading Roundabout

Reading Roundabout

On Thursday 23rd February, Years 3 and 5 had a very exciting morning, working with Belinda Jackson from the School Library Service. They were in the very privileged position of choosing 180 new books for our library. What a great responsibility!

Mrs Jackson brought an amazing selection of books and she had chosen 6 different genres, which she spread out on the tables for the children to explore.

After looking carefully, talking about them with their talk partners,  the children were asked to choose their favourite in each genre and fill out a small booklet. They then had to make their choices, 90 books chosen by Year 3 and 90 chosen by Year 5.

Mrs Jackson said that all the children were amazing- so well behaved and enthusiastic about looking at all the lovely new books.

I can't wait to get all the new books onto our school library system as soon as possible, so that the children can get reading their choices!
