This week, we would like you to do some PSHE thinking around IDENTITY and DIVERSITY.
Parents - we have attached some videos that might help your child to think about and understand diversity. Please watch these videos before you watch them with your child and look at the ones on the side so that you are aware of them and are happy with the content.
Our home learning project for the next week is based on diversity as it is currently Pride month.
As you know, we are all unique and special. We have many similarities but also lots of differences. It is our differences that make the world an interesting place and create diversity. Diversity means that there are lots of different kinds of people. Whatever our differences, everyone should be treated equally and with respect.
This week, we would like you to create something that celebrates these differences - the things that make us unique. You may want to watch some of the videos linked below to get you thinking. There is also a worksheet that you could fill in (or if you can't print it then you could just think about the questions and write answers on some paper) which will get you to think about your own identity. You could think about the similarities and differences in your own family or the people that you know. You could think about your friends and what makes them unique. Otherwise, you could do some research about different cultures, countries or religions and share what you find out. You can present this in lots of different ways, such as creating a picture of your family, a poster, presentation, video or by writing a letter or poem to a friend. Whatever you create, we would love to see, so please send your creations to us if you can.
