YEAR 1 TRIP TO BICTON BOTANICAL GARDENS

We had a fantastic day at Bicton and spent our time exploring different greenhouses and sketching our favourite plants.

We listened carefully in our groups to all the information on each plant type and took some time to be part of a plant quiz.

The Rose group and the Daisy group came joint first as they managed to answer all the questions correctly.

We had a lovely trip around all the gardens on a train and spent some time in Bicton's amazing play area where we spent time zooming down the slides and zipping across the zip line!

In Year 1 we have been using the movements of plants during their life cycle as inspiration for our dances in P.E.

After a busy time planting sunflower and cress seeds, we have been very impressed with the growth of our plants.
Each day we observe how they have changed and predict how long they will grow over time
