Summer Term

We made playdough for the school fair. We sold all of our playdough!

We had a great time today at our Nursery Sports Day. We did lots of team games and had races at the end. All of the children enjoyed an ice pop to cool down at the end! Thank you to The Friends of Homelands School for the ice pops. Thank you also to St Cuthbert Mayne students for helping us to run this event.

Exploring real fish as part of our sea topic.

We had a wonderful time at our Teddy Bear’s picnic with our families.

The children worked hard to make over 60 little cakes for our Teddy Bear’s picnic.

This week we have been making yummy fruit salad and fruit smoothies. We have been reading 'Oliver's Fruit Salad' and 'Handa's Surprise. Our mini topics are healthy eating and Africa.

Today was our Craft afternoon where parents/carers could come in and make crafts with us and then we got to take them home.

We all had a lovely afternoon.

Today we harvested the radishes that we planted in our Nursery Garden. We then chopped up the juicy radishes for snack time. The children also enjoyed exploring other vegetables using all of their senses. They also painted pictures of the vegetables, carefully looking and then mixing colours to match what they could see. We have planted beans in clear containers so that we can watch all parts of the bean plant growing over the coming weeks. Our work this week has been centred around the book ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’.

Fun on the Field

The Nursery had a great session on the field with Torquay United on Wednesday. They were aliens moving in different ways around planets. The aliens practised throwing and catching balls as well. We finished off with some fun games.

Adventures at Decoy Park. We fed the ducks, had a drama workshop, went pond dipping and looked for mini-beasts. At the end we all had a big pic-nic and a play in the park.
