Maths at Homelands

We are very lucky here at Homelands to be part of this project - led by the NCTEM (2021).

This project aims to secure firm foundations in the development of good number sense for all children from Reception through to Year 1 and Year 2. The aim over time is that children will leave KS1 with fluency in calculation and a confidence and flexibility with number. Attention is given to key knowledge and understanding needed in Reception classes, and progression through KS1 to support success in the future.

TTRS

When it comes to learning times tables, speed AND accuracy are important – the more facts your child remembers, the easier it is for them to do harder calculations.

TTRS is fun and challenging, designed to help pupils master the times tables!  The times tables are the basics of maths. If they know the basics, they’ll find the rest much much easier.

NUMBOTS

Numbots is a great, fun way to develop your child's accuracy with number bonds and boosting addition and subtraction skills for all aged children.  Coins and certificates can be achieved according to the levels completed.

All children start at the same place in Story Mode, and when they get to a certain stage they unlock challenge modes. The idea is that they play little and often, and this will  significantly improve their understanding of number bonds and addition and subtraction facts.
