Music Day 2024

For the first time at Homelands, we have honoured World Music Day – a day to celebrate the wonders of music!

Across the school, a number of activities were carried out. Reception made tambourines, Years 1 and 3 made maracas, Year 5 took part in a ‘Battle of the Bands’ and Year 6 thought about emotions created through music and created a piece of art work based on their favourite artist or band.

To round off the celebration, we all gathered together to hear a performance from Guitar Club and then we sang ‘We Will Rock You’ as a school. The children brought their hand-made instruments to keep the rhythm of the song, whilst Mr Hopkins played on the electric guitar. A huge well done to the Year 5 children who performed guitar in front of the school on that day!
